CfAT, alice springs — Falinc

CfAT, alice springs

Falinc worked with the Centre for Appropriate Technologies to produce deckchair and camp stool slings. The artworks are designed by Central Australian Aboriginal artists, with new artist collaborations added over time, increasing the range.

This pattern, “Awelye ceremonies”, represents the pencil yam in its early stages of maturity. The artist, Rachael Nambula, was born in the Utopia region, north of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory. Her main painting design is the pencil yam, which is an important food source for the First Nations People, and features across deckchairs and camp stools.
